Help for 'improving stats'

IMPROVING STATS

You get unassigned experience (UE) for being online and roleplaying (help ue). You can use this UE to improve your stats and skills with '@assign ue'.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT STAT TO RAISE TO GET BETTER AT SOMETHING?

That's a great question. It's not one we can completely answer in an Out of Character help file. For the most part, the stats the game uses are intuitive. What follows are a few examples to illustrate this point and help guide your thinking on this:

* If you want to be able to lift heavier or things, or carry more stuff, the obvious choice for a stat to raise is Strength
* If you want to be able to more effectively dodge attacks, you want to raise a stat that makes you faster
* If you want to be able to take more damage you want to raise a stat that makes you more durable
* If you want to be able to accomplish tasks that require your intellect, you want to raise a stat that makes you smarter

CANT YOU JUST TELL ME WHAT IS BEST?

Not Out Of Character, no. However, if you find yourself unsure of what to do to improve your character, we recommend you ask around In Character. Find a mentor who can relay this information to you in an In Character manner. You may have to read between the lines a bit, as it is not themely or appropriate to tell someone 'If you want to be better in combat you better raise your agility'. Instead you might be told something like: 'If you want to survive a street fight, you gotta work on your reflexes so you can get out of the way of that fist before it hits you in the face.'

Mentors can be found everywhere, be they player characters or non player characters. If you find yourself stuck, try asking a bartender something like 'Hey, where can I find someone to teach me how to be a better fighter'. Alternatively, you can ask on the SIC (help sic).

Asking out of character on OOC Chat or Game Help will result in people telling your to FOIG or FOIC: Find out in character. They are telling you that you need to ask these questions in character, as part of your roleplay.
